For those of you wondering, guys like Eric Nesterenko, Troy Murray and a few others will be part of a separate poll for 2 extra skaters later this week.

Kane is a ridiculously good player and Cup winning goal and such. Probably one of the most talented US born players to play but full of controversy. One of those love to hate or hate to love types which is good for the sport IMO as long as he stays out of jail and doesn't seriously hurt himself or someone else.

Uncle Marty is up there as a favourite but not on the list.

I will never forget Daze as my dad and uncle would constantly complain about the gentle giant not being a physical enough player.

I always thought Daze was underrated. A guy his size with his speed and man could he shoot the puck.

Who's Uncle Marty?

Again, in a 'Hawks sweater: Larmer, Hoss, Kane, Amonte

Yes, Larmer had the advantage of the craftiest Blackhawk ever in Denis Savard centering for him for years, including on the PP. Plus having Secord on LW (and in the goalies' kitchen) with Wilson and Murray at the points.

But if there was one 'Hawk winger-not-named-Bobby-Hull who can pick his spot and hit it, time after time, it was Steve Larmer. Couple that with his very solid 3-zone play, including PK and he's the all time 'Hawks RW.

Kane may be able to surpass that and if Hoss were here some 250 goals sooner, he'd be the top guy. If one were to look at career performance regardless of team then it'd be: Hoss, Larmer, Amonte, Kane.

Can't go wrong there. So far, it is an amazing team. The defense will be very good as well, maybe great depending on which "version" of Bobby Orr we get—and if he is voted on to the team.

Mush March needs more votes. He was an icon in the city. And Mosienko's 3 goals in 21 seconds will never be broken.

I thought Larmer would run away with this one, really interesting to see that Hossa is right up there too. 4 pretty good options once you throw in Amonte and Kane.

An amazingly good team - but:

Montreal, Toronto, Detroit - they can put together some great teams, too. Better than the Hawks? Possibly / probably....

Not so sure about that. The Original Six teams will be stacked for sure, the Dynasty teams of the 70s and 80s. After that, I think it gets iffy.

Original Six teams will have multiple HOF'ers at every position. Look at the Hawks at center. They had four great ones. And that's all they need for this team. Their top 4 C's are as good as anyone's will be, even though center has not historically been their best position.

Montreal will be stacked. Dryden, Beliveau, Richard, LaFleur, Harvey, Robinson, Gainey, etc. IMO, that will be the best team, but the Hawks will be right there.

Hawks like Montreal, Boston, Edmonton will be really strong at all forward positions on every line. LW includes: Bobby Hull, Michel Goulet, Al Secord, Patrick Sharp, Dennis Hull . . .

Boston will also have a better all-time squad than the Hawks Their defense will be the best of any team...Orr, Bourque, Shore, and Chara as a top 4. IMO those first 3 guys are 3 of the top 5 defensemen of all time (along with Harvey and Lidstrom).

Agreed, but it appears the Hawks get Orr too if you guys vote him on the team.

This is how crazy this is, assume Pilote, Keith, Chelios and Wilson are on the team (they likely will be). That's 4 Norris winners, and then if you add Orr (the best defenseman of all time) . . .

IMO these teams should be put together with chemistry and team needs in mind, not just picking the 4 best players...

If I go with the 4 centers I personally think should be on the team (Savard, Mikita, Bentley, and Toews) then Larmer next to Savard and Mosienko next to Bentley are easy choices.

Kane or Hossa are the top two contenders to go next to Mikita...given Stan's great defensive ability I think adding a guy who is also good defensively, like Hossa, is a better choice. Give them another guy with a two-way game, like Paul Thompson, on the left side and you have a line that can go up against the other teams' top scoring lines while still being a scoring threat themselves.

Fourth line is tough. Kane next to Toews makes sense, but Kane is about the complete opposite of what an ideal 4th liner is. Generally you want guys that won't be a liability defensively, can pound the other team physically, provide some energy, and play on the PK so your best even strength players can rest. If you go that route, which is what I prefer, then guys like Eric Nesterenko, Dirk Graham, Ed Litzenberger, and even Tony Amonte are better choices than Kane.

If you're picking the 4 best RW's ever for the Hawks I think Kane makes the list, but things change when you're putting together a team and start looking at specific roles that need to be filled.

Haha, Havlat. He's reminiscent of a goofy uncle/relative from the old country.

And yeah Daze was very talented. It is a shame his body just couldn't hold up.
